We are incredibly proud to share that Martin Lester, a valued member of the Style Group team for best part of two decades, is taking on the London Marathon in support of StrongMen.
Having known and worked alongside StrongMen founder Efrem since 2007, Martin witnessed first-hand the devastating impact of loss on Efrem, Sharon, Yasmin and their family. From that heartbreak, StrongMen was born — a charity dedicated to supporting men navigating bereavement, grief and mental health challenges, many of whom may otherwise struggle to know where to turn.
Over the years, Martin has seen the powerful evolution of StrongMen — attending events and witnessing the life-changing impact the charity has on men facing similar journeys. Inspired by the courage of those involved, he stepped far outside his comfort zone and returned to running for the first time since his teens, initially training for the 2024 Landmarks Half Marathon.
After a fellow runner was forced to withdraw through injury, Efrem asked if there might be someone “mad enough” to prepare for a full marathon in just nine weeks. Martin answered that call.
With limited preparation time and a huge challenge ahead, Martin is tackling the London Marathon not for personal glory, but to raise vital funds and awareness for StrongMen’s essential work.
In his own words:
“I cannot promise it will be an impressive performance, but I will do my best.”
That determination perfectly reflects both Martin’s character and the resilience StrongMen encourages in the men it supports.
StrongMen provides safe spaces, peer support, and community for men facing loss — breaking down stigma and ensuring no man has to suffer in silence. Donations help fund events, outreach programmes and ongoing support services that are changing lives across the UK.
We are immensely proud of Martin’s commitment, courage and willingness to step up at short notice for such an important cause.
If you would like to support Martin and contribute to StrongMen’s ongoing work, your donation — large or small — will make a meaningful difference.

HBN 00-09 sets out these surface characteristics because unsealed joints are a recognised place for moisture and micro-organisms to collect. A genuinely joint-free edge is designed to address that specific detail.
This is a surface and edge specification, not a clinical claim. Zero-joint technology has not been evaluated or certified by NHS England, and does not claim to reduce infection rates.
Food-service and guest-facing areas are typically inspected under hygiene and housekeeping standards that look closely at surfaces and joints. A seamless, moisture-resistant edge is designed with exactly that kind of scrutiny in mind.
Every one of these sectors shares the same underlying surface problem: a bonded-strip edge is a seam, and a seam is a place where dirt, moisture or wear can concentrate in a way a continuous surface can't. Zero-joint technology addresses that one structural detail across offices, schools, healthcare and hospitality settings alike — one construction detail, one shared weak point removed, four sectors that each care about it for their own reasons.
