Crown Banqueting is an Asian wedding venue situated in the heart of Derby. Its Banqueting suite can cater for any capacity from 100 to 700 guests, and is designed and customised for wedding receptions, birthday parties and other community or cultural events.
It’s stylish interior, entwined with modern and unique decor, makes it the ideal venue to host large events. The venue provides an idyllic setting in which to entertain friends and family and share momentous days at Pearl Palace.
A key desire of the Crown Banqueting team was the flexibility to divide its banqueting suite into two rooms to cater for concurrent events, or to open it up for as many as 700 guests.
With this in mind, Style worked directly with the client to select and install a moveable wall solution with great acoustics, ease of operation and a finish that suited the modern and unique interior design of the room.
Style recommended a moveable wall with impressive 50dB RW acoustic integrity, which would allow them to host two lively events on either side when the wall was closed..
To complement the modern interior design of the room, a steamed beech finish was chosen and, with ease of operation also essential, Crown staff can open up or divide the room with ease thanks to its smooth and effortless handling.
“Crown Banqueting is a perfect example of where we can add real value to a business, by giving them the flexibility to divide a room and use the space more profitably for multiple events,” said Mike Fine, Style’s director for the Midlands.
“Moveable walls are hugely popular in the hotel, conferencing, banqueting and hospitality sector as they immediately enable businesses to increase their revenue by using the same space for more events.
“Thanks to our service and repair team, we are also on hand to ensure moveable walls are routinely inspected and tested to ensure they continue to offer trouble free operation, with some walls lasting up to 25 years.”
Talk to us about your acoustic goals — we’ll help you design a solution that sounds as good as it looks.

HBN 00-09 sets out these surface characteristics because unsealed joints are a recognised place for moisture and micro-organisms to collect. A genuinely joint-free edge is designed to address that specific detail.
This is a surface and edge specification, not a clinical claim. Zero-joint technology has not been evaluated or certified by NHS England, and does not claim to reduce infection rates.
Food-service and guest-facing areas are typically inspected under hygiene and housekeeping standards that look closely at surfaces and joints. A seamless, moisture-resistant edge is designed with exactly that kind of scrutiny in mind.
Every one of these sectors shares the same underlying surface problem: a bonded-strip edge is a seam, and a seam is a place where dirt, moisture or wear can concentrate in a way a continuous surface can't. Zero-joint technology addresses that one structural detail across offices, schools, healthcare and hospitality settings alike — one construction detail, one shared weak point removed, four sectors that each care about it for their own reasons.
