At Kensington Aldridge Academy, the requirement was clear: create flexible learning spaces that could adapt to modern teaching methods, while maintaining a clean, contemporary design aesthetic. Working in collaboration with 3BM and ACS Construction, Style Group delivered a high-performance movable wall solution tailored to the needs of a busy London academy.
To support adaptable classroom layouts, two Dorma Variflex 100 manual movable walls were installed, enabling large teaching areas to be quickly reconfigured into smaller, fully functional learning spaces. This flexible partitioning solution allows staff to respond instantly to changing class sizes, activities and teaching styles.
Finished in a durable laminate melamine panel from the classic collection, the movable walls provide a robust, low-maintenance surface — ideal for high-traffic education settings. The system not only enhances practicality but also complements the academy’s modern interior design scheme.
The Variflex 100 system features a concealed powder coated Aluminium track, ensuring a streamlined and unobtrusive appearance. When in operation, the movable walls glide smoothly into position; when not in use, the panels stack neatly to maximise available floor space.
In addition to spatial flexibility, the system delivers effective acoustic performance. Once extended, the operable walls provide reliable sound reduction, supporting parallel classroom activities and focused learning without disruption.
The completed installation provides Kensington Aldridge Academy with a versatile, future-ready learning environment. By integrating high-quality movable partition walls, the academy benefits from:
• Flexible classroom configurations
• Improved space efficiency
• Enhanced acoustic separation
• Long-term durability
• Contemporary architectural integration
This project demonstrates how expertly specified movable wall systems can transform education environments across London and the UK — delivering adaptability, sound control and design excellence without compromise.

HBN 00-09 sets out these surface characteristics because unsealed joints are a recognised place for moisture and micro-organisms to collect. A genuinely joint-free edge is designed to address that specific detail.
This is a surface and edge specification, not a clinical claim. Zero-joint technology has not been evaluated or certified by NHS England, and does not claim to reduce infection rates.
Food-service and guest-facing areas are typically inspected under hygiene and housekeeping standards that look closely at surfaces and joints. A seamless, moisture-resistant edge is designed with exactly that kind of scrutiny in mind.
Every one of these sectors shares the same underlying surface problem: a bonded-strip edge is a seam, and a seam is a place where dirt, moisture or wear can concentrate in a way a continuous surface can't. Zero-joint technology addresses that one structural detail across offices, schools, healthcare and hospitality settings alike — one construction detail, one shared weak point removed, four sectors that each care about it for their own reasons.
