High-performance movable walls installed for a global pension fund office in London, delivering flexible meeting spaces and exceptional acoustic control.
To support a more flexible and acoustically controlled workspace, a global pension fund investor commissioned a tailored movable wall solution for their London office. The brief focused on creating a multifunctional environment that could seamlessly transition between open collaboration and private meeting spaces, while maintaining a high-end, design-led finish.
We installed a series of Dorma Huppe Variflex movable walls, combining both solid and glazed systems to achieve the desired balance of privacy and openness. A 57dB Rw acoustic partition was specified to provide enhanced sound insulation for key meeting areas, alongside additional 52dB Rw solid and glazed glass partitions within a larger divisible space. The configuration allows the solid wall to divide the room, with glazed partitions forming the perimeter, maximising natural light while maintaining strong acoustic performance.
All systems were top hung from the structure with precision-engineered suspension tracks and semi-automatic seals, ensuring smooth operation and consistent acoustic integrity. The installation was completed with premium finishes including Kvadrat fabric panels, laminated acoustic glass, and coordinated RAL detailing, creating a cohesive and refined aesthetic throughout.
The result is a highly adaptable workspace that enables multiple meetings to take place simultaneously without disruption, while offering the flexibility to reconfigure the layout quickly as requirements evolve. By combining high-performance movable walls with considered design detailing, the project delivers a modern, professional environment suited to the demands of a leading financial organisation.

HBN 00-09 sets out these surface characteristics because unsealed joints are a recognised place for moisture and micro-organisms to collect. A genuinely joint-free edge is designed to address that specific detail.
This is a surface and edge specification, not a clinical claim. Zero-joint technology has not been evaluated or certified by NHS England, and does not claim to reduce infection rates.
Food-service and guest-facing areas are typically inspected under hygiene and housekeeping standards that look closely at surfaces and joints. A seamless, moisture-resistant edge is designed with exactly that kind of scrutiny in mind.
Every one of these sectors shares the same underlying surface problem: a bonded-strip edge is a seam, and a seam is a place where dirt, moisture or wear can concentrate in a way a continuous surface can't. Zero-joint technology addresses that one structural detail across offices, schools, healthcare and hospitality settings alike — one construction detail, one shared weak point removed, four sectors that each care about it for their own reasons.
