Buro Happold is a world-class global practice of engineers, designers and advisors. The company creates transformative outcomes for clients and communities through integrated thinking and a truly interdisciplinary, interconnected community of passionate experts.
At its offices in London, Style worked directly with Buro Happold to give flexibility to its conference area.
A Dorma Huppe Variflex moveable wall was installed by Style, enabling the room to be quickly and easily divided into two. With an impressive 52dB acoustic rating, the operable wall enables meetings and events to take place undisturbed either side, and a pass door provides ease of access. The inclusion of a pass door also enables the wall to remain in place for extended periods of time when two rooms are preferred to one.
When larger conferences and events are taking place, the moveable wall is neatly stacked to the side, giving an expansive space when needed.
“This is a simple, yet highly effective, moveable wall in a grey melamine finish that complements the décor of the room,” said Michael Porter, Style’s group managing director.
“It is light and simple to open and close, which makes it easy for Buro Happold staff to change the usage of the room as frequently as required.
“With an EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN15804, this moveable wall also has the added advantage of being a highly sustainable solution which is important for the green credentials of any building project.”
Style is the exclusive UK partner to Dorma Huppe, Skyfold and SWG offering an extensive portfolio of moveable, folding and sliding walls for all requirements and budgets.

HBN 00-09 sets out these surface characteristics because unsealed joints are a recognised place for moisture and micro-organisms to collect. A genuinely joint-free edge is designed to address that specific detail.
This is a surface and edge specification, not a clinical claim. Zero-joint technology has not been evaluated or certified by NHS England, and does not claim to reduce infection rates.
Food-service and guest-facing areas are typically inspected under hygiene and housekeeping standards that look closely at surfaces and joints. A seamless, moisture-resistant edge is designed with exactly that kind of scrutiny in mind.
Every one of these sectors shares the same underlying surface problem: a bonded-strip edge is a seam, and a seam is a place where dirt, moisture or wear can concentrate in a way a continuous surface can't. Zero-joint technology addresses that one structural detail across offices, schools, healthcare and hospitality settings alike — one construction detail, one shared weak point removed, four sectors that each care about it for their own reasons.
