Style South has won the prestigious AIS Contractors Gold Award for 2008. The award was received for the installation of two fabric wrapped Skyfold vertically rising operable walls to the main meeting area of Gensler’s new London Headquarters.
The installation was completed with Gensler as the lead designers and ISG Plc as the Main Contractor.
Panels were factory wrapped with Kvadrat Inox Glacier fabric wallcovering to match the surrounding walls and help create a startling yet functional backdrop for client presentations.
With the benefit of magnetic steel core panels, Gensler are able to showcase their ideas to their prospective clients by the simple use of magnets to adhere their ideas to the Skyfold walls.
The challenge of working directly with Skyfolds biggest Global client was not one that can be underestimated.
The installation and subsequent award help to confirm the giant strides Style in partnership with Skyfold are making in the UK, since the installation was completed orders have been received on two subsequent Gensler projects, Fidelity in Dublin and DTZ HQ in London, with many more in the pipeline.

HBN 00-09 sets out these surface characteristics because unsealed joints are a recognised place for moisture and micro-organisms to collect. A genuinely joint-free edge is designed to address that specific detail.
This is a surface and edge specification, not a clinical claim. Zero-joint technology has not been evaluated or certified by NHS England, and does not claim to reduce infection rates.
Food-service and guest-facing areas are typically inspected under hygiene and housekeeping standards that look closely at surfaces and joints. A seamless, moisture-resistant edge is designed with exactly that kind of scrutiny in mind.
Every one of these sectors shares the same underlying surface problem: a bonded-strip edge is a seam, and a seam is a place where dirt, moisture or wear can concentrate in a way a continuous surface can't. Zero-joint technology addresses that one structural detail across offices, schools, healthcare and hospitality settings alike — one construction detail, one shared weak point removed, four sectors that each care about it for their own reasons.
